RECOMMENDATIONS AND PREVENTION

Florida is known for having thousands of invasive species that affect it’s natural habitats. In order to prevent this from happening, the National Park Service and The U.S. Department of Interior have made the following recommendations:

  1. Avoid disturbance to natural areas, including clearing of native vegetation, planting of non-native plants, and dumping of yard wastes.
  2. Do not purchase or use invasive exotic species in your landscaping or for land restoration or erosion control projects.
  3. For landscaping only use plants that are native to your local region or those that are not known to be invasive.
  4. Know your plants, If you are unsure if a plant is exotic or not, simply call ECOBLUE AQUATICS and we will identify it for you at 305-316-1817. We simply need a picture. You may also contact the Department of Agriculture in your area. Find out if it’s know to have invasive tendencies or if it is closely related to a plant species that is invasive. To be on the safe side, if you don’t know it, don’t grow it.
  5. Control exotic invasive plants on your property be either removing entirely or by managing them to prevent their spread outside your property. CALL ECO BLUE AQUATICS TODAY FOR A FREE ESTIMATE or a FREE ANALYSIS OF YOUR PROPERTY.
